Family

I have been doing a lot of posts related to family. Family is really dear to me and I do not know where I would be without mine. I am the youngest of three. I have two older sisters. I have a sister who is twelve years older then I am and I have sister who is ten years older then I am. My sisters mean a lot to me, I say this because they have helped me out when with situations that I could not go to Mom and Dad about. We all have those situations... Both sisters are married, and have children. I am so blessed with what I have, but WHO I have in my life.

I Hear A Song..

Music is expressed in many different ways. I have a cousin who has a very good voice. His name is Andy. He has a voice like no other has ever heard. He attended college in Madison and was a part of Redefined, which is a coed a Capella group. Andy has had many performances during his college years.

There is one song that Andy did that I listen to all of the time. The song is Free Falling. Many money making artists have done their own versions of it. I like Andy's version the best.

Andy also performs at family and friend's weddings and funerals. I give my cousin the up most respect because he has a voice like no other.

Please check out the video and leave a comment on what you think...

Isn't Life Grand?

I was writing my previous blog thinking about how things have been going in my life. I believe that everyone has up and down times in their life. Well, right now is a really high time for me because things are going good for me. When I say that I mean school is going good and I have a great family that supports me in my decisions except the bad ones.

I would have to say the lowest down time in my life was when I went into Open Heart Surgery. When I was younger, my mouth turned blue when I was drinking a bottle as a baby. My parents were concerned so I was taken to the doctor and found out that I have a Ventricular Septic Defect. To sum it up, I had holes in the lower two chambers of my heart. The blood was not pumping correctly. I had open heart surgery when I was four years old. I remember it like it was yesterday. I had surgery at Children's Hospital. I was treated like a little king. I was only four years old. I got what I wanted when I wanted. :)

I had to go to a heart doctor for stress tests to make sure everything was all right up to the age of eighteen. Everything is good now and I am living life great.

Internship - It Networking

I am attending Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) for IT Networking. The current semester I am doing my internship at school that is in the South Milwaukee School District. The internship requires ninety six hours of a job that has something to do with It Networking. At my internship, the school currently has Microsoft Server 2003 and I am upgrading it to Server 2008. I did not realize how many steps or how long of a process it is. I have done a lot to make sure that the school is getting the sever that is going to serve (no pun intended) the school with the correct type of server. To begin I assessed the current server such things as roles, applications, computer software, policies, Then I looked around at different companies that sell servers for schools, and companies. I talked to my boss that is the head of the IT Department at South Milwaukee School District. Once, I was given the OK, I then ordered the server. I set up all the roles onto the new server that were on the old server. I am currently setting up Staff and Student User Accounts.

I would say that I learned a lot of new ideas, and some items that I had to install were a review from previous classes that I have taken at Milwaukee Area Technical College.

Even though you can download the software from the Web site, you should also consider purchasing (for an additional fee) the software on DVD. This will make reinstalling the software much easier in the future in case you have a problem (such as your hard drive fails).
